سؤال في OCX

اخي العزيــز

في الاونه الاخيره كانت لي عده قرآت و محـــاولات في هــذا الموضوع ---- ولك الخـــلاصــه التي توصلت اليهـــا ---- ســـامحني لاني باكتب بالانجليزي لاني سوف استغرق اكثر من ســـاعه في الكتابه بالعربي --- اذا اردتها بالعربيه اخبرني و سوف اضيفها لاحقنا ان شــاء الله

1 - You can use the ActiveX components OCX files to develope your webpage, but there are many factors involved in this method. ActiveX OCX can only run on Internet Explorer but not on NetScape and may not work on other browser either. Also, before any one can use the OCX object, it has to be download onto the clinet (Visitor) computer and it has to be registered on the client machine, also, this MsComm depends on some other files which have to be donwloaded on the clinet machine and be registered at the same time. So for that OCX to work on any computer the first time visitor will have to down load the OCX file and all the other files it depends on, this might come up to few MBs which is alot i'm sure.

2 - I think it is best for you to use AcitveX DLLs which will run on the server it self and do the job you want and then send the result ot clinet without having him or her to down load too many files. However, using OCX can be useful in a company webpages where they use Entranet through LANs where the connection can get up to 10MBs.
