For a beginning try "Developing Windows-Based Application with VB.Net and C#.Net", it'll help you alot

Also as pampo suggests, the MOC is very useful also, as well as taking the MCAD.Net track in any center

For the book I suggest above, if you from Egypt, Cairo ...go to "El-Handasa bookstore" in front of

faculty of Eng. of Ain Shams univ in Abbaseya, you'll find the book, and it costs about 35 L.E

MCAD/MCSD [70-316] By MicroSoft Press

is useless

it's not good for learning

it's no more than a reference when u wanna revise ur concepts

Useless !!!!!!, I can't agree with you totally, this book is the most efficient book I have ever seen that is very useful for both beginners and experts, did you read it well?, you said it's not more than reference and it's not true, the reference book is a book that I open to see what is System.IO is supposed to do for example and that book is not a such one, this book covering the concept that the dot net framework is relys on like GC, CLR, BCL, and many things that needed to be understood well to develop windows apps using dot net framework like how to design a good User Interface, it also covers concepts of how to deal with OOP branches like Polymorphism and Inheritance, in addition ADO.Net is

covered also, the same thing with the other books of the trainning kit..... Web Application and Web Services

check it and u will know how useless MS Press one compared to this book
