1 day ago: Kudos to Egyptian people for overcoming fear and standing up for human dignity. This is indeed a brand new chapter in the history of humanity. Such an inspiring and mind-blowing event to watch - how modern technology for the first time empowers people to unite and connect, for the higher common ground of freedom and happiness regardless of different backgrounds. Now the revolutionary storm is sweeping across the Arab world. Let's wait and see, fingers crossed.
As a Chinese, it was such a shame to see that on 25 Jan when Facebook and Twitter was flooded with messages on the Egyptian revolution, Renren (fb alike) and Weibo (twitter alike) was traffic-jamed by some chinese celebrity divorce scandal... Such a shame... Of course the Great Fire of Wall of China has since "harmonized" all the news on Egyptian revolution ( no brainer really). But we're holding our breath and watching closely. By nature Chinese people don't favor radical revolution, in fear of unnecessary blood only result in yet another deceitful power play. Maybe this time we can truly learn a thing or two, and gain some much needed confidence in "the power of people".
The renaissance of an ancient civilization is brewing. We see you. Pitfalls and traps are very likely on the way. But let's all have faith.
