A multinational IT services provider is looking for a solid quality SQL server DBA to join its SQL server professionals team
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Data Base Administrator will, as part of a team based approach, supply complete support for all aspects of database and application infrastructure to a variety of clients, as assigned. This includes planning of deployment, deployment/test, transition to production environment, ongoing performance and health monitoring, proactive daily checks, backups and restore tests, performance audits and reviews and disaster recovery planning.
RESPONSIBILITIES / DELIVERABLES:
* Coordination, analysis, design, implementation, and administration of IT solutions
* Recommendation of best practices for improvements to current operational processes and procedures
* Database server configuration and maintenance
* Support of SQL server Database services.
* Administration of backup procedures and disaster recovery plans
* Trouble shooting of operational problems and performance tuning
* Proactive daily checks.
* Responding to monitoring alerts.
EDUCATION:
Minimum requirement: undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Information Technology other related field and multiple training and/or certifications in SQL server database technologies.
EXPERIENCE:
* Extensive knowledge of SQL Server database administration.
* Minimum 3/4 years experience in Data Base Administration, including experience in:
* Installation, configuration and upgrading of SQL server databases
• SQL server client tools.
• Performance tuning of SQL server databases
• SQL sever technical support
• Design and implementation of various SQL server backup/recovery strategies
• Coding Scripts, Procedures, functions, etc.
• Develop methods for monitoring
* Interfacing with external customers
* Project Management, time management, scheduling and coordination
* Able to work independently as well as part of the overall team.
The candidate must have a good command of English (writing and talking).
