WCZ currency Exchange is a company in Bahrain that exchanges foreign currency depending upon the exchange rate for the day. Currently, they are using an old computerized system that frequently crashes on them. They are using an old remove their system using the latest platform available. They require a program that will allow them to enter the currency rates for the day and keep this information current during the day. They also need to be able to exchange currency from Bahraini Dinars to any other currency and vice versa and print out a slip with this information to be given to the customer and for filing.

WCZ Currency is looking for a computer professional to set up their system.

As a computer professional you are being hired to achieve these objectives.

This assignment will be covered over the full year. In this assignment you are required to select two business tools like Oracle 10g and Microsoft SQL server then answer the following tasks:

Tasks

1) Identify the two business development tools that could be used to solve this problem by analyzing the user requirements and format of solution __ textual, graphical, multimedia. Identify the data sources.

2) Evaluate the two development tools. This would involve classification of software development tools including procedural programming, databases programming, use of macros within generic packages integrated office suites.. etc.

3) select one development tool and report the reasons for the selection . the selection criteria should include evaluation strategy including development effort and environment, cost, compatibility, maintainability and client acceptance factors.

4) Identify resources available in the chose application development software, including program, report, screen and menu generators, use of macros and package- specific development tools.

Note:

• It is acceptable for trainees to download information from the net. However, this information must then be rewritten in the candidates own wads.

Use a range of methods to collect the data, for e- g. through the Internet, books/ magazines, for each of the tasks. The sources from which you collect this information should ho properly documented.

• The information collected should then be clearly written in a structured format.
