Introduction ..

The company you work for has decided to enter the home

control market , with the intention of providing software interfaces

to common appliances, environmental controls, etc

Goals :

You are to design a home control interface using Visual Basic

or any other programming language ( graphic based) that will

allow people to control the following devices (50 points )

* Room light for up to three rooms .

* Simple TV controls ( on/off, volume , station, etc) .

* Simple Stereo controls ( on/off, volume , station , etc .)

* Environmental controls ( A/C or heat , temperature ranges , timer(s))

This system will be accessed from the home computer or remotely.

This interface will be running under the Microsoft Windows

environment , so stick to the Windows control components (widgets)

like ( Menus , Forms , Drop dawn list , option buttons , checkboxes ,

Message boxes ,...) Disabling the access of some interface components

during certain mode or events is highly encouraged

You are to turn in :

Deep analysis & description of the " User- Task -Technology- Environment" areas .

Submissions :

You have a free hand in the desing of the interface , be creative ,

make it visually pleasant , efficient in keeping a professional look..
