i wanna connect distributed microcontrollers,the max distance between them is about 10 meteres, such that they are able to send messages to each other. may i use the serial port or use a wirless communication thx

how i can program one of the 3 i/o ports of the 8051 to act as serial port is it possible, if not is there any devices that can interface??
