To use the JvEncrypt ActiveX Control, just follow the below steps:

1. Once extracted from the zip file, copy the following files to a
directory on your computer, preferably your Windows system directory
or system32 directory. These are the directories where most ActiveX
controls are stored on your system.

JvEncrypt.exp
JvEncrypt.lib
JvEncrypt.oca
JvEncrypt.ocx

2. To add the JvEncrypt control to your project, just select "Components"
under the "Project" menu while in your Visual Basic project and then browse
to the folder where you saved the JvEncrypt.ocx file
above (e.g. c:\winnt\system32\jvencrypt.ocx).

3. Now you will be able to utilize the powerful Blowfish encryption in
your projects by simply dragging and dropping the control to your form!

Note, to use the sample project, you must have a copy of the 4
files above in the same directory as the project.

REGISTRATION:

To register this product, just point your web browser to:
http://www.vandaveer.com/jvencrypt/reg.htm

Once you register, you will be provided via email a license key
that will prevent the "Nag Screen" from showing when running your
programs that contain the JvEncrypt ActiveX control. Once you receive
your key, just replace the "unregistered" part of the
encrypt1.LicenseKey = "unregistered" in the Form_Load() event
with the key value provided to you.

METHODS:

The JvEncrypt control supports the following methods:

1. EncryptFile(InFile, OutFile, Key). Where the "InFile" is the source file you wish to encrypt, the
"OutFile" is the destination of the encrypted file after it has been encrypted and the "Key" is
an optional parameter you can use to increase the encryption level. Note, you CAN have the inFile and
outFile as the same name.

2. DecryptFile(InFile, OutFile, Key). Where the "InFile" is the source file you wish to decrypt, the
"outFile" is the destination of the decrypted file after it has been decrypted and the "Key" is
an optional parameter that would have been included in the encrypted file when you originally
encrypted it. Note, you CAN have the InFile and OutFile as the same name.

3. EncryptString(Text, Key, OutputInHex). Where "Text" is the string you wish to
encrypt (e.g. "my_password"), "Key" is an optional parameter you can use to increase the
encryption level, and "OutputInHex" is an optional parameter used to convert the encrypted
output to hexadecimal values.

4. DecryptString(Text, Key, IsTextInInHex). Where "Text" is the string you wish to
decrypt, "Key" is an optional parameter that would have been included in the encrypted string
when you originally encrypted it with the encryptString method, and "IsTextInHex" is used
if the original encrypted string output was in hexadecimal.

5. CompressFile(SourceFile, DestFile). Where "SourceFile" is the full path to the file you
wish to compress and "DestFile" is the full path to where the source file
will be placed after it has been compressed. Note, "SourceFile" and "DestFile" CAN be the same name.

6. uncompressFile(SourceFile, DestFile). Where "SourceFile" is the full path to the file you
wish to uncompress and "DestFile" is the full path to where the source file
will be placed after it has been uncompressed. Note, "SourceFile" and "DestFile" CAN be the same name.

For detailed examples on using the above methods, please review the sample Visual Basic 6.0
project included in the zip file.
