  1. Port Saeed Dubai Washing Machine Repair Common Washing Machine Problems and Solutions Port Saeed Dubai Washing Machine Repair Za'abeel First Dubai Washing Machine Repair Like all household appliances - there are a range of things that can go wrong with your washing machine, leaving you without a way of cleaning your clothes. From water leaking onto your floor to holes mysteriously appearing in your favourite clothes, washing machine problems can be some of the most frustrating. Often, these issues will only get worse if they're not repaired straight away, so make sure to diagnose and troubleshoot any washing machine issues immediately using our guide to common washing machine problems and effective solutions. What's the problem if my washing machine won't spin? If your washing machine isn't spinning, the first thing you should check is that the switch on the door or lid is not broken. This switch controls the locking mechanism for the door or lid and will prevent the washing machine from operating if it can't lock the door properly. It can be broken over time through repeated use or can be damaged by excessive force. To test if this is the issue with your washing machine, locate the switch on the inside of your washing machine door or lid and press and release it. It should make a clicking noise when you do this - if not then it might be broken. Door switches can be bought online or at hardware stores and you can replace them yourself or use a washing machine repair service. Why is my washing machine leaking? A leaking washing machine is one of the scariest faults, especially if you're living in an apartment building where you could be risking flooding the apartment below every time you put on a wash. When you notice a leak coming from your washing machine, the first thing you should do is turn it off and begin checking the pipe and hose connections. The drain and fill hoses at the back of the machine should be tightly secured and the drain pipe should be properly secured in the household drain connection. Washing machines also have internal hoses that can be checked by removing the front or rear panel. If you find no faulty pipes or hoses externally, check inside for cracked, perforated, or loose hoses that might be leaking. Replacement hoses can usually be found online for fairly cheap but if it's a pipe that's broken, calling a professional is advised. Why does my washing machine smell bad? The most likely cause of a washing machine that smells is an overgrowth of bacteria that's usually caused by mould or a build up of lint and detergent. Mould thrives in warm and damp places, and the leftover detergent or lint that can build up over time can give it the perfect place to start growing. These build ups are normally located in the lint filter, the rubber seal on the door, or the detergent drawer, so check these places first. As well as manually finding the build ups and removing them, you can run a regular hot wash but keep the drum empty apart from a little bit of white vinegar. This will kill any accumulated bacteria and help to neutralise any nasty smells. Why is my washing machine shaking? A washing machine that constantly shakes can damage floors and counter tops, damage internal components, and create enough noise to wake people up at night. If your washing machine has a shaking problem, check to see if there are clothes stuck in the door or piled up on one side of the drum. Although you'd expect that a washing machine's rotation would redistribute an uneven load, this can be the cause of excessive vibrations, shaking, or 'walking'. If it's not unevenly distributed loads that are causing your washing machine to shake, it could be that the feet aren't even. You can buy replacement feet if you've lost one, or if they're simply misaligned you can adjust them easily yourself. Umm Suqeim Second Washing Machine Repair
  2. Emirates Hill Second Dubai Washing Machine Repair 4 Signs To Determine If You Need Washer Repair Service Emirates Hill Second Dubai Washing Machine Repair Emirates Hill Third Dubai Washing Machine Repair Like any other appliance, washing machine plays a vital role in making our lives easier and convenient. By reducing the time of washing clothes, it has made way for homemakers to indulge in other interesting activities. But like any other appliance, washing machine can also go through some wear and tear. If you notice an issue when you place your clothes in the washing machine, you might wonder if it's time to get a washer repair service. But, not everyone knows how to detect the signs of a malfunctioning washer. Not only can a defective washer prevent you from cleaning your clothes, but it can also increase your energy and water consumption if the issue isn't resolved. Here are some obvious signs that will help you know if your washer is in a need of repair: The Washer Is Making Noise You are familiar with the normal sounds your washer makes while washing the clothes. But hearing loud noise could indicate a problem that you need to examine. Before jumping to any conclusion, you can check it by switching off the washer and rebalancing the load. If the problem still persists, then you need the appliance repair servicefor your washer. The Drum Is Not Filling The washer should start filling the washing drum as soon as you put clothes in it and activate it. When it doesn't happen, there might be an issue with the water pressure or hose. If the water pressure is normal, just make sure that the hose is not leaking or blocked. Otherwise, call an appliance repair technician to avoid any further damage. The Drum Doesn't Spin If your washer drum does not rotate, you may have one of the many issues that you have to address to make your machine work again at its best. In many cases, you'll find that the belt is responsible for this issue. In addition, the lid sensor can be broken, and this problem will not always be easy to solve. As long as you don't get the drum working, you will not be able to wash your clothes, you want to proceed without any delay. The right technician will identify this issue and solve it before you know it. Water Won't Drain From the Drum Once you have washed your clothes, then the water should drop out of the drum. If the washing machine stays in the water after the cycle ends, there could be a corrugated drain or blocked hose. You can remove your clothes and find small pieces of cloth which can be preventing water from draining. If the water doesn't drain in a few minutes, then contacting experts for the washer repair service is your best choice and will give you good results. If you detect any of the above-mentioned signs in your washing machine, it's better to book an appointment with the appliance repair service technicians near you. They will not only analyze your washer thoroughly and repair it, but also help you maintain your machine in order to make it run long. Dubai Investment Park Second Dubai Washing Machine Repair
  3. Umm Suqeim Third Dubai Washing Machine Repair How to Fix an Overloaded Washing Machine Umm Suqeim Third Dubai Washing Machine Repair Umm Ramool Dubai Washing Machine Repair A washing machine that won't spin - or a washing machine that does spin, but shakes and makes a series of loud crashing noises - can be a sign that the washing machine is overloaded, or on the verge of overloading. This problem can be very expensive to fix if the wrong component becomes damaged. While an overload can be caused by any number of issues, it's most commonly the result of packing too many items into the washer during each load. Attending to overloading washing machine problems can be simple, but may require professional services in some situations. An Overload of Clothes More often than not, a washer overload has been caused by putting too many items - or too many heavy items - into the washer before running it. This can unbalance the washer's barrel, causing loud crashing during the spin cycle. It can also cause drainage problems, particularly if an item of clothing gets caught inside the washer, causing the washer to fail when it attempts to begin the spin cycle. In either situation, the immediate solution is to reduce the amount of items placed into the washer during each cycle. If removing or rearranging some objects and restarting the washer doesn't solve the problem, you may need to reset your washer entirely. Before doing so, however, take a look at the legs holding up your washing machine: if they are loose or wobbly, they may be the cause of any violent spinning. Initial Washer Reset If reducing the size of the washer's loads, and ruling out any problem with the legs, don't solve the problem, the next step is to reset the washing machine. Sometimes, you can just unplug the machine, wait five minutes, then plug it back in. If this does not work, you may need to perform a master reset: machines with digital menus will often have a dedicated reset button to accomplish this, but other washers may need you to proceed through a specific reset sequence, which can be found in your owner's manual. This should fix the overload - though the machine may need some time to drain, depending on when the problems began. Al Awir Second Dubai Washing Machine Repair Washing Machine Troubleshooting If a master reset fails to fix your overloaded washing machine, you'll need to go through the process of washing machine troubleshooting. Because washers are complex machines, consult or hire a professional to handle this, and be sure to check the owner's manual for warranty details. If your machine is still under warranty, you'll want to call and get your machine examined. If it isn't, you will need to go through the process of testing the various components of your washer, starting with the lid switch. This process will depend on your washer's make and model - and again, hiring a professional may be necessary if the problem is particularly complex and requires the installation of a new part.
  4. Al Dhagaya Dubai Washing Machine Repair 5 Questions to Ask Before Repairing or Replacing an Appliance Appliances on the fritz? Ask these questions before you call the repairman or head to the store. Ice cream is melting in your freezer. Your oven won't heat up. Your dryer stops spinning. If any of these machine breakdowns has happened more than once, you're probably weighing the options of what to do-appliance repair or replace? Major home appliances can be major expenses, and it can be stressful when the time comes to repair or replace appliances. For instance, a high-end, side-by-side refrigerator/freezer or a gourmet cooktop can run upwards of $2,000, according to Improvenet, a site for locating and getting estimates for home improvement services. Like any cost-conscious consumer, you probably want to extend the life of your appliances as long as possible and choose the best time to replace them. Al Hamriya, Dubai Washing Machine Repair Deciding if it's time to repair or replace appliances can be difficult, but there are some general guidelines to help you. Answering these five questions may reveal which option is right for you: 1. How much will the repair cost? Royce Palmer, president of Columbia Appliance, a retailer in Columbia, Missouri, says you should consider replacing an appliance if the cost to repair it is more than 50 percent of the cost of a new one. The cost and availability of replacement parts is also an important consideration when deciding whether to repair or replace appliances. "There are times that you have no choice but to replace because the part that is defective is no longer produced," Palmer says. But the cost and logistics of installing a new appliance also need to be factored in, says Anthony Arroyo, owner of the repair shop Mr. Appliance of the Tri-Cities in Gray, Tennessee. He says an appliance repair might still be a good option, "as long as it's a little bit cheaper than a new one," and if it means avoiding the complex installation of a built-in appliance. If your machine experiences what Arroyo calls a "catastrophic failure," requiring huge expenditures in parts and labor to fix, then it's off to the appliance store you go for a new purchase. You should consider replacing an appliance if the cost to repair it is more than 50 percent of the cost of a new one. - Royce Palmer, president of Columbia Appliance 2. How old is the appliance? If you're deciding when to replace appliances, you can apply the 50 percent rule to the age of your appliances as well as the cost of repairing them, according to HouseLogic, a website of the National Association of Realtors. That would mean replacing an appliance that is more than halfway through its expected life span and requires repair work that's more than half its original cost. If you go the repair route and are all about the DIY craze, consider that there are some home repairs you should never do yourself. How old is too old? If you're considering when to replace appliances, use the average life span as a good reference point. According to HouseLogic, the average life span (in years) of common major household appliances is: Compactor: 6 Dishwasher: 9 Disposal: 12 Dryer: 13 Electric range: 13 Exhaust fan: 10 Freezer: 11 Gas range: 15 Microwave: 9 Range hood: 14 Refrigerator: 13 Washer: 10 "The life span of household appliances varies based on their usage and maintenance," says Chris Granger, vice president and general manager of Sears Home Services. "For example, a single person's washing machine will typically last longer than a family's because it will be used much less." When considering an appliance repair or replace, also note whether the appliance is still under warranty and how many times you've run into trouble with it. If the appliance is less than a year old, it probably still has a warranty covering parts and labor, so getting it repaired could cost you nothing. Even if the warranty has expired, you may not want to ditch an appliance the first time something goes wrong. But if the appliance has broken down repeatedly, creating several repair bills over the last few years, it may be time to part ways and consider a replacement. Al Warqa'a Fifth Dubai Washing Machine Repair 3. Do you need a more energy-efficient appliance? Energy costs are another important factor when deciding whether to repair or replace appliances. If your old appliance has a lower energy-efficiency rating than new models, you might save more money in the long run by switching it out. That bright yellow and black EnergyGuide label attached to all appliances on the sales floor is a useful tool for estimating how much an appliance will cost to operate. An Energy Star label certifies that the appliance has met an international standard of superior energy efficiency created by the U.S. Department of Energy and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Energy Star-approved clothes washers and refrigerators, for example, use about 20 percent less energy than standard models, according to the Department of Energy. 4. Could better maintenance extend the life of your appliance? You may be able to put off an appliance repair or replace by adopting a few good maintenance practices. "On a clothes dryer, for instance, one should check the exhaust vent probably at least once a year, just to make sure the air is flowing properly," says Palmer of Columbia Appliance. "If they do that, it's probably going to prolong the life of the dryer." Another tip, from Arroyo, is to periodically vacuum your refrigerator condenser coils-located either in the back or across the bottom of the refrigerator-to remove the dust and other debris that can cause the unit to use more electricity to keep cool. Cleaning your range top and oven is also important if you're trying to avoid an appliance repair or replace, Granger says. "Keep the range top burner areas free of food debris so you do not block the flow of gas," he says. "Clean the oven cavity per the manufacturer's recommended method, adjusting the frequency based on your usage." Al Dhagaya Dubai Washing Machine Repair Running your dishwasher regularly and not overloading your washer and dryer will help those appliances last longer, Granger adds. 5. Are you a stickler for style? Style preference is a final, and totally personal, point in determining when to replace appliances. If you want a uniform look in your kitchen, you may view your old dishwasher breaking as a signal to get a new one that matches the color and style of the refrigerator you bought a few months ago. For customers who like coordination, Palmer advises replacing everything at once. If not, "by the time you decide to replace the other items the design may already be changed," he says. When to replace appliances? The choice to repair or replace appliances is up to you, but checking this list before you decide may help ensure you spend your money wisely and get the results you value most. So you don't find yourself in a crunch if an appliance repair or replace catches you by surprise, build up an emergency fund in your online savings account so you'll be prepared to either fix the old or invest in the brand new.
  5. Al Safouh First Dubai washing machine repair Replacing A Water Valve The water inlet valve on your washing machine is the electrical solenoid valve that will open when current is applied to allow the washing machine or washer dryer to fill with water from your household water supply. Generally when a washing machine water valve goes faulty it will cause the washing machine not to fill with water, usually the most common faults reported when a water valve is faulty are as follows: Washing machine will not fill with water Washing machine not filling Washing machine will not take powder Washing machine will not take fabric conditioner Washing machine buzzes but doesn't do anything else While these are the more commonly reported faults, there are others that can be reported when a water valve is faulty and it is not possible to take it as read that if one of the above is reported that it will be a faulty water valve causing the problem. Although, it is the most probable cause of the reported fault. As is usual with these guides, we will show you how to do the job correctly as professional appliance repairs do but we will stress that you should read this tutorial fully before beginning any repair work on your washing machine or washer dryer. Unlike many, this tutorial is intended to teach you how to logically diagnose the fault with the washing machine, ensure that you know how to test for the part being faulty and how to replace the part safely. If at any point you feel out of your depth or unsure, call in a professional washing machine repair company and do not put yourself in harms way for a few pounds. Al Satwa Dubai washing machine repair Safety When Repairing A Washing Machine Before starting any work on a washing machine or any other appliance, please ensure that all power to the machine is removed. There are components to the rear of the machine, such as the mains terminal block where the mains lead connects to and the mains interference filter in many washing machines that are live even when the power is off on the mains switch. You can still get a shock. It is also highly advisable to keep all children and pets from being in the same room or area where you are repairing your washing machine. Children have a nasty habit of being curious but do not understand the danger of sticking their hands inside a washing machine or any appliance that may be live, pets just don't know any better. Please make sure that you work safely. How a Washing Machine Water Valve Works In order to better understand a water valve we will briefly explain how they work as it may help you determine if the water valve in your washing machine is faulty or not. The actual valve only allows water to pass when electrical current is applied to the electrical solenoid or solenoids on the valve. This creates a magnetic field that lifts a small magnet inside the valve body itself which, along with the force of the water from the mains supply, pushes through the valve allowing water to flow into the washing machine. In order for the valve to work correctly and allow the washing machine to fill with water both the current and water pressure are required. Typically the water pressure required is 1.0 to 10 bar of pressure from your mains supply, anything below that will likely not allow the washing machine to fill with water and anything above it may well cause a leak to occur. How To Test A Washing Machine Water Valve Testing a washing machine water valve is a relatively simple process that can be done with an electrical meter, which we strongly recommend for testing most washing machine parts. On the image to the right you see a typical double or dual water inlet valve used in many washing machines. The format may differ in your particular washing machine model but the general principal will be the same for almost any fill valve. We have marked the best place to use the leads of your test meter to check for continuity, that is a simple check to see if there is a circuit or not. If the test with your meter on the water valve solenoid coil reports that there is a circuit then the chances of the valve being faulty diminish greatly. To test simply place the positive (red spot) and negative (black spot) leads onto the valve coils as indicated and test to see if you have a circuit. If you cannot do this then we would suggest that you ask someone that can or call in a professional to repair your washing machine. If the meter shows that the solenoid coil is open circuit, i.e. there is no circuit or connection, then the solenoid is faulty and you will need to change the water valve for a new one. Al Hamriya Port Dubai Washing Machine Repair In some cases it is possible to change only the solenoid, such as the one shown to the right, by squeezing the retaining lugs at the top of the coil, popping it off and putting a new one back on. This is handy where the original water valve is no longer available and suchlike but it does involve cannibalising one valve to repair another. This is not really recommended unless you know what you are doing or, there is no other option available. Ordinarily, although there are other faults that can manifest on a washing machine water valve, it will be the solenoid coil that fails causing one of the faults listed above. Of course you can get a water valve that doesn't close properly and that allows water to seep into the washing machine when the power is off but, generally speaking, these are very reliable mechanical spares that have been around for a long time, so they tend not to break. The eclectic solenoids however can and do fail and this is the most common point of failure by far when it comes to washing machine and washer dryer water valves. Replacing A Washing Machine Water Fill Valve Although the process can differ slightly from model to model let alone between different makes of washing machine and washer dryer, the principals here will apply to almost all. Only a very few washing machines will differ greatly from the process described here although the mounting points of the water valve, the number and type of connections and so on could be different. The first step is to pull the washing machine out as all water valves will be mounted on the read of the washing machine. Now, make sure that there is no power to the washing machine. If you did that already, check it again please. Next you need to switch off the water supply to the washing machine. Usually this will be done by a valve on the incoming pipe in the cupboard next to the washing machine, just follwo the washing machine fill hose until you get to the actual house pipework. At that point you should see a valve that will allow you to switch off and isolate the washing machine. Once that's done unscrew the fill hose at the washing machine, it is advisable to have a bucket or suchlike and a few old towels handy as there will be residual water in the fill hose that will come out. After this is done you should see something like the following on your washing machine. This is the water inlet valve. What you see inside is the screen or filter that stops any large particles in the water supply from entering the valve and causing any issues or even a failure of the water valve. These can get clogged up and make the water valve less effective where you have a dirty mains water supply. That filter being clogged can cause a poor fill, slow fill and so on but it wouldn't normally stop the washing machine from filling at all. At this point, you need to take the lid off the washing machine. On the other side of what you see in the photograph above you should see something very like below. What you can see there is the two hoses from two solenoids from the single water connection. What happens is that one valve opens for the normal washes in the washing machine, the other will open (normally) to operate the pre-wash compartment in the soap dispenser drawer and both open to use fabric conditioner on the final rinse. the flow of water is determined by the force of the water and by the way that the soap dispenser top channels the incoming water. Getting The Water Valve Out To Replace It Next you need to release the water valve to allow you to replace it, in this case as follows. As you can see, on this particular washing machine, there are two screws that hold the water valve in place, one above the valve and one below it. Simply unscrew these two screws and the water valve will fall free. There are a number of water valves that are held in by push pins, nuts and all manners of different methods. the trick is to take your time and work it out logically, you should not be required to use much force at all to get a water valve released from its mounting point. Once this is done it allows you to remove the electrical connections like so. It is personal preference whether you remove the electrical connections before releasing the water valve from its mounting or vice versa. In essence it makes no difference which way around you do this part. Now you need to release the how clips and, because the valve is no longer mounted this is often made easier as you can flip it over or lift it up so that you have more space to work with the valve. Al Safouh First Dubai washing machine repair In many machines this will be simple spring clips as sown that can be released using a pair of pliers and pulling the clip back although some manufacturers to use ratchet type plastic clips, but the basic principle is exactly the same. Then you have to get the internal water hoses off the water valve and there are a few words of warning here. These hoses can be VERY tight! On some washing machine they can feel as if they are glued on but, they're not. They are just very tight and often require considerable effort to get them off but, what ever you do, do not be tempted to force them off with a screwdriver or something as you run a high risk of damaging the hose which could make it impossible to refit. What you need to to is try to twist the hose on the valve whilst pulling it, it will break free but as stated, it could take a bit of effort. Just try to keep your hands clear of the machine when you do that as almost always they will fly away from you and smack off the machine giving you a nasty cut or bruise. After that the valve is off and you should have it sitting free like this. To refit the new water valve you simply reverse the process above and then test that the washing machine is once again working once it is all back together again. Ordering a New Washing Machine Water Valve For a lot of washing machine and washer dryer water valves you do need the model number to make sure you get the correct part. Many water valves have specific fittings for both mounting and electrical connections and if you order the wrong water valve it will not fit correctly. If you are unsure, please ask as we are more than happy to assist. For most washing machines and washer dryers you will find the model number printed on the control panel of the machine, as Zanussi, Beko and others do or, more often, on the rating plate that you will normally find inside the door, on the filter flap or on the back. Without the model number and, sometimes even the serial number or PNC, it may not be possible to identify the correct water that you need. Once you have that if it is possible and are not sure which water valve that you need simply email us on [email protected] and we'll point you in the direction of the correct valve for you washing machine or washer dryer. There are also universal water valves available that will fit a great number of washing machines especially but those are more for people that have a bit more experience or skill as well as time to work out how to fit the valve. Having said that, you can save a considerable amount of money using a universal fill valve. Finding A Washing Machine Water Valve In The Shop Finding a water valve in our online shop is dead easy, simply go to the shop using this links above and to the right then type in the model number of your washing machine or washer dryer into the "Search" box. Press search and it will bring up all the parts we've used on that particular model. You can of course narrow the returns by adding "water valve" to the search, just as you would in the likes of Google, to look for a specific spare part. Washing Machine Spares Delivery Times Many water valves that are in the online store we physically hold in stock and are often shipped the same day that we receive your order. Even if it is a water valve that isn't so common we would usually have most within a day or two and it would ship the same day it was received.
  6. Bu Kadra Dubai Washing Machine Repair How To Replace A Washing Machine Door Lock Bu Kadra Dubai Washing Machine Repair Umm Suqeim First Dubai Washing Machine Repair Replacing A Door Lock To replace a washing machine door lock is fairly straightforward and most people with some time and common sense will be able to do this without too much trouble in most cases. It is worth pointing out that not all washing machines are the same and that the process for some washing machine models may differ from that laid out below. The general principles however do remain the same regardless of the machine as all washing machines must have a door safety interlock fitted. There are probably (we've not looked) a load of videos out there that claim to be tutorials on how to replace a door interlock and, that's all well and good but they are usually quite model specific. And, we've not seen any that actually show you how the professional repairer would do replace a door lock. Our way is faster and safer but it does require your attention for ten minutes to read through the tutorial and understand what you are doing and not just trying to copy what's in a two minute video. First Step In Replacing A Washing Machine Door Lock Make sure that the power is off. Now make sure the power is off again and the plug is removed from the socket. Seriously, every year many people are electrocuted doing simple electrical repairs and a washing machine door lock will often carry mains current electricity. Touch the wrong wire and you could get a nasty shock, touch the wrong two and you could end up dead. Even professional washing machine repair guys get blase about it, then they don't for a while after they get a belt of mains power. It reminds them to check. Check. It could save your life. Getting To The Washing Machine Door Lock Often this is where a lot of people stumble, the first hurdle. You can do this the hard way, like a lot of people assume and try to access the door lock from the top of the machine, reaching down past the control panel, controller, switches and so on and possibly damaging them. Or, you can get to the door lock the easy way we'll show you. First of all, the washing machine door lock lives here, behind the two screws on the front panel of the washing machine. The black surround to the squarish hole is where the door catch or door pecker engages with the door lock. The door lock then powers and locks the door shut. The next bit is the clever part. Rather than, as stated before, reaching down, quite possibly damaging something else on the washing machine or tearing the backs of your hands to shreds, we washing machine repair people prefer the easy option. As you can see in the photo below, the next thing we do is to pop off the front door seal retaining band with a flat headed screwdriver as shown. Once off, as below, the band can easily be set aside until you put it all back together. Next, fold the door seal back inside the drum of the washing machine as shown below. This should be pretty easy to do and, once folded back the door seal or gasket should stay there. This is a bit more awkward on a washer dryer due to the vent and may well take a bit more messing about. Make sure there's no power again before proceeding as, at this point, there's a danger. Now you want to undo the screws for the door lock itself as shown here. Once these screws are released the door lock will be floating about inside the washing machine with only the wiring holding it in position. The lock should drop free. Reach in and retrieve the door lock like so: As you can see it can now be accessed quite freely and replaced easily with normally plenty of room to work in the area. Now all you have to do is replace the door lock and put your washing machine back together in reverse of the instructions above. Bypassing A Washing Machine Door Lock In days of yore it was possible, by bridging certain terminals, to bypass the door lock on a washing machine. On occasion it gor repair professionals out of a hole when we had to order up a new door lock that we didn't have. Of course we also had to explain this to the customer and ensure that they understood the situation for safety. In modern machines this is not possible as the electronic controller will read the door lock, the resistance and so on amnd will not allow the washing machine to start a program unless the door lock is engaged. On door locks that use a pressure sensor to detect that there is water in the machine, a lot of Zanussi and Hotpoint washing machines used to use these, it is not possible to bypass the lock. Asides which most door locks are now using keyed connectors so that makes it even harder to bypass a door lock now. In any event, without understanding what you are doing and, being able to ensure safety, it's a big no to this practice now. Door Lock Variations We mentioned above the door lock that has a pressure sensor on them. These door locks had a small pressure switch that detected when the drum still had water in it. What this meant was that if your washing machine hadn't drained or, drained correctly, that the door would not open. Door locks like these have largely died away as they were not the most reliable of things and more expensive. Some door locks can be complex affairs which does affect the pricing with some of the German brands have door locks that cost a lot. Most however are pretty standard affairs and are not terribly expensive. Ordering a New Washing Machine Door Lock For a lot of washing machine and washer dryer door lock you do need the model number to make sure you get the correct part. For most you will find the model number printed on the control panel of the machine, as Zanussi, Beko and others do or, more often, on the rating plate that you will normally find inside the door, on the filter flap or on the back. Without the model number and, sometimes even the serial number or PNC, it may not be possible to identify the correct lock that you need. Finding A Washing Machine Door Lock In The Shop Finding a door lock in our online shop is dead easy, simply go to the shop using this link that will open a new window or tab (or the ones below) then type in the model number of your washing machine or washer dryer into the "Search" box. Press search and it will bring up all the parts we've used on that particular model. You can of course narrow the returns by adding "door lock" to the search, just as you would in the likes of Google, to look for a specific spare part. 7. Jumeira Third Dubai Washing Machine Repair Replacing Drum Bearings Of all repairs that can be done to a washing machine this can be one of the most physically difficult to successfully complete as, more often than not these days it requires a complete stripdown of the machine. The first thing you have to realise about a bearing change on any washing machine is that, if you're not confident in your ability to totally strip the machine and re-build it safely then call in a professional. This is not an easy job, none are two-minute jobs and it is very, very easy to make costly mistakes due to the involved nature of the work. In the main there are two bearings in a washing machine. A lot of people take off the back panel of the washer and see the bearing that sits behind the pulley and think, oh that's easy to get to, never realising that there is one that sits in front of there as well as a water seal of some sort. This is why it's a problem. Mirdif Dubai Washing Machine Repair The image to the right shows a typical bearing set for a washing machine or washer dryer. The smaller bearing is the rear bearing and does not take as much load as the larger bearing which the front bearing. In front of that, usually fitted flush onto it, is the water seal. What will usually happen is that the water seal on the front bearing (which often relies on a brass bush on the drum shaft to seal against) will fail and allow water to pass into the front bearing. That bearing breaks down over time and, eventually will collapse. Whilst the bearing is on its way out though, just like any bearing that is failing, it will start to get noisy and we get the fault of "noisy on spin" or "grumbling rumbling noise" when the machine is a few years old. Well, on most they're a few years old when the bearings fail. In more recent times we're seeing the bearings failing on machines that are younger and younger and now, on many of the cheap washing machines out there, we actually see them failing at a mere eighteen months old, some even within the twelve month warranty period. Quite honestly service engineers on UK Whitegoods are disgusted at this development. To make it even worse some manufacturers, notably Indesit (Hotpoint, Ariston and Indesit) and Electrolux(Electrolux, Zanussi, AEG and Tricity Bendix) have introduced sealed tanks where bearings cannot be replaced, you have to replace the entire inner working of the machine. The reason, they say, is to cut down production costs. Preparation Before Replacing Bearings Replacing the bearing or bearings in a washer is one of those jobs that you really need to prepare for. Have all the tools that you will need to hand, have a good look at what you're about to set off doing and how you're going to do it and geet ready. Make sure that you have the machine totally disconnected from power and water for this job and ensure that you have some old towels or suchlike to hand. This is messy and you will get dirty. You'll also most likely get a pint or so of water on the floor when you disconnect the sump hose if you need to. The sump hose is the one that connects to the drain pump. Also ensure that you have ALL the spare parts that you are likely to need to hand as the last thing you want is to stop half way through the job. You also do not want to miss a part that you should replace whilst at it, like a tub seal for example and this is where a little expert guidance can come in handy. For what you need you can email our spares department who will advise and, in many common cases, offer a complete kit of spares that you need barring anything unusual on [email protected] or you can visit the forums where there is always helpful advice on repairs from the engineers themselves. Marsa Dubai Washing Machine Repair Most common bearing, drum and drum seals are available from our online shop and this link jump you straight to that section Getting Into Washing Machine Bearings The first thing you have to work out (as do we quite often) is how to get into the bearings. Depending on the machine this can be relatively easy or just an absolute pain. Older machines that were well built were pretty straightforward assuming that there was no damage to the drum shaft (more on that later) as they had a "spider" on the back which you simply removed a few bolts to draw off, change the bearings and put it back on. I know that sounds easy, but trust me, on some it isn't just as simple as it sounds. Some others, like Servis and Antonio Merloni based machines, have a bearing plate that is released by a clamp band at the back and the whole back of the tub comes off, heater included. This is probably one of the easiest to do and means that you have full access to the insides of the outer tank, so you can check for other problems. The downsides are that the seal for the rear really has to be replaced as well and that on these cheap machines the bearings do fail, often. On Zanussi, AEG, Tricity Bendix, John Lewis and Electrolux machines (they're all pretty much the same regardless of what the marketing literature tells you) the cabinet splits and the back has to come off to extract the entire tub group. Had they put the bolts in the other way around that hold the two outer tub halves together life would have been so much easier, but alas they didn't. When this design was launched many years ago (it is about 14 years old or so) I asked why they hadn't put the bolts in the other way around as then bearings would have been made far easier to change, guess what, it saves on production costs. Anyway, to get the tank out you have to disconnect everything from it and, I do mean everything, to extract the whole lot and then strip it outside the shell. On a Candy or Gorenje washing machine as well as others things get even more difficult when changing the bearings as, not only does the whole tub have to come out but the only way that it will come out is through the top. This is a soul destroying job to do and takes much, much longer to complete, service engineers hate them for it. Not only that some are really a two-man lift to do safely without damaging your back just because of the sheer weight in them. Washing Machine Bearing Seal This is probably one of the most important tips for when you attempt to change bearings, replace the seals. Obviously the bearing water seal just has to be replaced, there's no option but I'd strongly recommend that you also order the tub seal as well. The reason is pretty simple, until you strip the machine you won't know if it's failed or not and, putting in a dodgy seal can cost you the machine. This is the inside of a washer's bearing so you can see the ball bearings running in the race encased in grease. If water gets in here then the bearings have had it! To explain that, the Zanussi type tub splits in the middle and in there there's a kind of silicon seal which is hollow, it compresses and seals the two tub halves. Should that seal leak the chances are that water will drip onto the motor which is mounted at the bottom of the tub and, bang! More often than not, when that happens you'll be looking at a new motor and module. So there you go, the lesson is to replace the seal as for the few pounds it costs it is well worth it. Washing Machine Drum Damage The inner drum of the washing machine, some call it the "basket" is the (normally) stainless steel part in which you put the clothes. On the back of that there is a spider and a shaft and, on that shaft which slides into the bearings, there is normally a brass bush which you can see in the image to the right, on most continental machines (as well as a lot of UK brands) which, if it is damaged, will simply tear up the new water seal. You must inspect this very carefully for damage or the bearings will fail again within months of being replaced. There are various other ways that this seal between the drum shaft and the water seal is made, but the above is the most common way. Fair warning though, there are some crazy ways that manufacturers do this. Jumeira Third Dubai Washing Machine Repair Tools Required To Replace Bearings Quite often you need specialist tools to replace bearings, some even require specially manufactured bearing drawers to get them in and out. And, whilst these may not be absolutely essential, they sure can make life a lot easier. When tapping bearings in the greatest of care need to be taken to ensure that they will last any length of time. This applies even more so to the front bearing water seal as virtually any damage to that part alone will be the cause of another failure without doubt. With many of the modern machines you will need a good selection of screwdrivers, spanners quite often Torx bits now and nut runners can save a shedload of time. In other words, make sure that you are well armed with tools for the job. Machines Where You Can't Replace Bearings In recent years we've seen a phenomena known as the "sealed tank" or drum where the outer tank is sealed completely. Usually it's seam welded around the middle of the outer tank and, where this is the case the drum bearing of the washing machine or washer dryer cannot be accessed to replace them. Apart from the fact that, as appliance repairers we think this is, frankly, disgusting it's also not good for consumers. It means that, on say a machine designed to last a thousand cycles or so, that the washing machine is effectively scrap after a couple of years in the main as the cost of a full inner tank is prohibitive. Or, you are forced to insure the machine against failure, any way you look at it, it's more expensive. Much more expensive. Several public members and trade have now tried to find a way to replace the bearings on these types of machines and, to date, none have had any success in doing so.
  8. Dubai Investment park First Dubai Washing Machine Repair Washing machine drum not turning Al Khwaneej Second Dubai Washing Machine Repair Emirates Hill First Dubai Washing Machine Repair Normally when this happens people often assume that the belt is faulty and, whilst this can be a cause, on most modern machines the belt will more often than not outlive the actual machine. It is not the common problem that it was many years ago and hasn't been for many years. The problem these days is more liable to be the likes of a speed control PCB or module or even what is referred to as the "tacho generator" on the washing machine's motor. Notably on older Hotpoint machines, pre-2003 especially, with a GEC motor fitted the carbon brushes being worn can cause this. There is an article based on the subject of carbon brushes alone, click here to read that article Assuming everything else works these should be checked: Belt Speed control PCB or module Motor capacitor (where fitted) Main control module Motor faulty Faulty carbon brushes A fault code comes up Over the past decade or so this has become an increasingly common problem, some random fault or error code pops up in the display of your washing machine or, it sits there flashing lights seemingly randomly at you but, doesn't work. First thing to do is check the washing machine fault code section and see if your's is listed there and that will give you an idea of what the problem might be. However and, this is really important, it will not normally tell you to the exact component what the problem is. All it will do is give you an idea of where to start looking for the problem. If you can't find the code there then ask in the forum, if someone knows or can gain access to the data to tell you they usually will do so. Most importantly, don't guess at what the problem might be, that rarely ends well! Washing machine timer not advancing This is a tricky one and it's not really possible to be entirely polite as so many people make the mistake of thinking immediately that the timer or controller is faulty when, in fact, it's often got nothing whatsoever to do with the timer. So if you're reading this and thinking that the timer is faulty, you're probably wrong. Normally the timer will advance to a certain stage before stopping and that gives us a huge lead on diagnosis of the actual problems as, what happens is that the machine will almost certainly halt where the actual faulty component is called into use. What this means is that almost any component can cause this fault and, if you are unsure we would strongly advise that you seek professional help because, if you blow £100 or more on a timer or module and you're wrong then the chances are that it will be non-returnable. Washing machine not heating Pretty easy one usually, in most cases there will be a faulty heater, thermostat, thermistor or pressure switch but there can be other causes. Heater Thermostat Thermistor Pressure switch/level sensor Timer or control PCB/module Washing machine is vibrating badly If you've just installed the machine then the chances are that you have not removed the transit packing properly, go back and read the manual again to see how it is done as, if an engineer calls under warranty and this is the fault you are very likely to be charged for the visit as it's not a fault. See also The Great Spin Speed Debate and Installation articles. Assuming the machine has been in a while then the problem can still be flooring or installation related, but more commonly it will be a suspension problem. Of course there are other faults that can manifest themselves in this manner, but it is rare. Suspension Bearing failure (See previous "Washing machine noisy") Dubai Investment park First Dubai Washing Machine Repair Washing machine not spinning Again often blamed on the belt (see previous) but in our decades of experience we can almost count on one hand how many washers we've seen a faulty belt causing no spin on, it is extremely rare. See the previous "Washing machine drum won't turn" as many of the problems described there can be mirrored to this problem. Remember very carefully, if the machine cannot drain or drain correctly then the spin will often abort rather than actually not spin so bear this in mind when looking for a problem. Speed control PCB/module Faulty or worn carbon brushes Faulty contacts on fast cam within the timer Faulty capacitor (where fitted) Faulty motor Faulty motor tacho Blocked pump or drain Overloaded or out of balance, can be made worse by poor installation or flooring Faulty bearings Faulty door lock mechanism Faulty pressure switch Washing machine not filling First, check the water supply is okay! Assuming it is then the first port of call will be the water valve, these are easily available from our online store and pretty straightforward to change. Pressure switch and electronic components can also cause this problem and it is often mistakenly reported as a fill problem when really, it is actually just that the machine won't start in the first place. Water supply Water fill valve Pressure switch Control PCB/module Poor washing results from washing machine There is a vast amount of information on UK Whitegoods to help with was performance problems in the advice and help articles. Do keep in mind however that any wash performance issues are highly likely to be a use issue that you can solve for yourself quite easily. Start with the articles from the links below: How to use detergent correctly An entire section devoted to explaining stains and marks with some really useful advice on how to remove stains. Overloading and the problems it causes as well as how it hampers performance. Bad smell from washing machine Again this has been extensively covered in detail from this article all about smelly washing machines and the from links will lead you to many associated problems, such as mould problems. Also covered here is the likes of mould or black marks (which are really mould) on the door seal and dirty soap drawers. Washing machine lights flash and won't work This is most likely a new electronically controlled machine and the flashing lights will almost certainly be giving you a fault code of some sort. Until you know what that fault code is in some cases (notably the famous Indesit/Hotpoint blinking LED) you won't be able to go much further. More advice on specifics may be gained through using the forums although we cannot guarantee that you will find the answer to your problem, we will help as much as we can. Washing machine leaks from the front Check that the soap box isn't blocked first of all as that is the prime suspect here. Bear in mind that it is clean water and you may not see the water run down the front to the door surround, where it gathers and drips from the bottom of the door so the fault can often be reported as, "door leaking". Soap box Soap box to tub hose Door Seal Door glass Washing machine leaking from underneath Okay this is another one of those "could be anything" ones. Water follows Newton's Law, i.e. it flows downwards with gravity so any component at all leaking can cause this, but the common ones to be looking for are listed here. Drain pump leaking Filter leaking Tub gasket leaking Hose split Hose leaking (any of them) Water pressure too high Heater gasket perished Door seal Pressure switch or sensor fault (overfilling) Physical tub damage Soap drawer damage Washer Dryer Problems (can also mostly apply to condenser dryers) Washer dryers are, frankly, a nightmare in a white box. In general the repairers hate them as they are more problematic, harder to work on and have a tendency not to live up to the promises and people's expectations. So, if it's a performance issue that you're having with the dryer there's probably nothing wrong with it, they're pretty much all bad. Remember that, in addition to the following, washer dryers share every fault listed for washing machines as well! Actual condenser dryers are okay these days although the cheaper ones do tend to give more trouble than the better built machines. They are more complex though so if you're not sure, just get in a pro to look at it. Heat pump dryers are specialist only affairs, we would strongly recommend that if you have a fault on one to not touch it yourself. Washer dryer not drying Very common fault and also one that can be caused by many things, it's simply a case of eliminating the suspects. Faulty water valve Blocked condensate chamber Faulty heater Faulty thermostat or thermistor Faulty pressure switch Faulty pump Spin faulty so the clothes are too wet to be dried Washer dryer leaks on dry This can be a tricky one, but normally one of these: Condensate chamber or seal faulty Trickle hose faulty Drain pump leaking Washer dryer noisy on dry This one's usually just a bundle of laughs to put right, especially on some of the more "unusual" dryer designs we see. But look at the dryer fan motor for the usual culprit, quite often this will be caused by the fan breaking up or the motor bearings failing. Umm Suqeim First Dubai Washing Machine Repair

Common Washing Machine Problems Almost every home in the UK has one and, inevitably, they will all malfunction at some stage, the only question is on how long they will run before breaking down and how much it will cost to repair. This is covered, in part, by the manufacturers section which offers lots of information on many of the domestic appliance brands sold in the UK. Please bear in mind that this washing machine and washer dryer guide is very generic and offers only rough guidance and not expert opinion on any one appliance or brand, so some common sense will be required. What you will see here is some general comments followed by a list of common components to check, if required seek further help within the forums. Washing machine won't start, no power There's lots of things that can cause this to happen but as with any fault diagnosis, start at the beginning and work through the problem methodically. So begin at the plug, make sure that there is power to the socket and that the fuse is okay before looking any further. Mains filter Door lock Mains cable & terminal block Main power switch Control PCB Washing machine won't drain or is noisy on drain Generally this will be some sort of drain pump failure or blockage. Drain pump blocked Drain pump faulty Waste outlet hose blocked Sump hose blocked Object in pump Poor flooring or installation Washing machine noisy See the above, drain pump faulty, as this can cause horrendous noise from the washer, especially something trapped in the pump. Objects trapped in between the outer tub and drum can also be a cause of noise, things like bra wires are extremely common to be retrieved and they can cause damage to the machine and any clothing in it. If you can, remove the wires before washing. The use of a wash bag for small items can greatly reduce the chances of items getting between the drum and tub, you can buy these from our store If the machine is a few years old then it is very possible that the bearings are either faulty, collapsed or just starting to go. With bearings the sooner that they are replaced the better as there is liable to be less damage and, if you know that they are faulty, not using or minimising the use will help to avoid further damage. Stability can also cause excessive noise, especially where the machine is on a wooden or floating floor. Obviously a fault with the suspension system can also produce the same result. Noisy pump Object in the drain pump Object trapped in the tub Bearings faulty Washing machine not levelled correctly Faulty dampers or suspension Poor flooring or installation
  10. Hatta Dubai Washing Machine Repair How to Clean Your Washing Machine & Dryer: Spring Cleaning Hatta Dubai Washing Machine Repair Business Bay Dubai Washing Machine Repair Our beloved washing machine has officially thrown in the towel (sorry, I had to). This machine has appeared in countless Clean My Space videos and posts. In its final wash, where it made enough noises to scare a burglar away, we just knew it was no longer going to be a part of our family. To honor the fine service this washer has provided us over the years - AND because it's one of our MOST requested topics - I'm going to show you how to thoroughly clean your washer and dryer. Maintaining your washer and dryer is really important. They are expensive to repair and replace and pretty necessary for modern life. Also, proper maintenance keeps them going at peak performance. I would recommend watching the video also so that you can have good visuals on how to do each step. How to Clean a Washing Machine Cleaning your washing machine is actually pretty straightforward and necessary. Therefore, consider doing this cleaning once a month if you are a heavy user and a couple times a year otherwise. Maintaining it also means it lasts longer. As well, it allows you to get rid of moldy smells caused by stale soap build up and fabric softener. Above all, it means you get a better quality wash. Cycle One - Baking Soda Begin with an empty washing machine. Add in about two cups of baking soda directly into the washing machine. This is going to gently scrub the inside and combat those stale, moldy odors that are left behind via old soap and fabric softener deposits. Next, run a large, long, hot water cycle and leave it be. If your machine has a self-clean cycle, use it. Cycle Two - Vinegar After that, you want to add 2 cups of plain white vinegar and 10 drops of essential oil like tea tree or lavender. The reason being that these EOs help with mildew and mineral deposits and act as a mild disinfectant. Then, run another cycle through and set it to the longest, hottest and biggest setting you can find. The vinegar will help break down any deposits and further remove moldy smells. After both cycles are complete, you can give a quick wipe down to the drum and agitator using a microfiber cloth and vinegar. If you have any stains, try rubbing them with a paste of baking soda and water and a non-scratching sponge. That should remove just about everything. 13.
